Insanity

Reckless.

No caution, but afraid to stop.

Heart wales as the tears well, but not one drops.
Longing for a road less traveled, void of wrong turns.

Headed nowhere fast, foot on the gas

Losing control while the tires burn.
All alone on this forbidden road hastily, no yield.

Heart pounding, full of fear masquerading as a thrill.
Seeking joy through blurred vision, it's only a mirage.

Reliving the pain, it’s a shame, merely a facade.
Moving forward at an accelerated pace.
Heart heavy, so deadly, breath shallows as it races.
Taking the bends, riding the curves, transporting this lie hurts.
Seeing the freeway, but taking the backroads, making this lie work.
Knowing straight ahead only lies a dead end.

Redundant pictures, déjà vu back again.
Eyes closed, no longer controlled, in a tailspin.

Waking yet to another day.

The way this day began.
